New Comments Feature Boosts Team Collaboration and Productivity

The new Comments feature, which launched today, is our biggest effort yet towards improving team collaboration and efficiency! With Comments you can now discuss the details of shared tasks with others, follow-up on assignments and track progress on your individual tasks.

The Comments panel makes it easy to view the conversation around a task, and time-stamped messages show the history of decisions and work. When a new comment is added, notifications are sent to collaborators via email and in-app alerts, keeping everyone up to date. You can even reply directly to an email notification and your reply will be added as a comment to the task.

Beta testers helped Comments evolve over the past few months and have called it "a crucial feature that has closed the loop on communicating and delegating very effectively." Others noted it has "eliminated a lot of back-and-forth emailing" within their organization. We hope it proves just as valuable for all our users and can't wait for you to try it out.

  2. Will there be a hotkey for opening comments? I learned to manage gqueues without mouse in nearly all cases that are relevant for me.

    1. Yes, Comments are available in both the Android and iOS apps. Use the top-right menu in the app to add a comment (examples here: https://goo.gl/eqxByz and here: https://goo.gl/t8EUHI)

  5. A major failure is that when you use the search function to find a task you want to comment on, the comment function is not available. What?

    1. Hi Scott - You should be able to add comments to tasks that appear in your search results (unless the task is from a view-only queue). We just tested here and it seems to be working.

If you're still running into issues please post on the discussion forum and we'll help troubleshoot the issue for your account.
