New Comments Feature Boosts Team Collaboration and Productivity

The new Comments feature, which launched today, is our biggest effort yet towards improving team collaboration and efficiency! With Comments you can now discuss the details of shared tasks with others, follow-up on assignments and track progress on your individual tasks.

The Comments panel makes it easy to view the conversation around a task, and time-stamped messages show the history of decisions and work. When a new comment is added, notifications are sent to collaborators via email and in-app alerts, keeping everyone up to date. You can even reply directly to an email notification and your reply will be added as a comment to the task.

Beta testers helped Comments evolve over the past few months and have called it "a crucial feature that has closed the loop on communicating and delegating very effectively." Others noted it has "eliminated a lot of back-and-forth emailing" within their organization. We hope it proves just as valuable for all our users and can't wait for you to try it out.

GQueues Added to Google Apps Marketplace New & Notable Apps

We are excited to share that Google has selected GQueues for its New & Notable section of the Google Apps Marketplace. As a Google for Work Premier Technology Partner we are thrilled to be recognized for our focus on building deep integrations with Google products. From our popular 2-way Google Calendar syncing, to our most recent integration allowing users to create Google Drive files from within GQueues, we continue pursuing our mission to help teams work better through a simple, yet powerful task manager.

Google has long been at the forefront of the cloud revolution providing companies of all sizes with Google Apps - the leading suite of cloud-based business tools. Alongside their core offering, Google has fostered a strong ecosystem of partners building third party apps to meet the unique needs of customers in every industry.

“We want our customers to get the most out of their Google Apps experience by providing a simple and seamless way to connect third party apps that make work more productive and collaborative," said Rahul Sood, Managing Director, Apps and Search at Google. "With the New & Notable section in the Google App Marketplace you can find powerful new apps and integrations across a range of categories that extend the capabilities of your Google Apps experience and make your teams more successful. We're happy to announce that GQueues is one of the New & Notable apps in the Google Apps Marketplace for June.”

Link to Tasks and Focus Your Attention with the New Task Overview

Today we're excited to launch another highly-requested feature in GQueues - viewing and linking to individual tasks with the new Task Overview.

The Task Overview lets you view and manage an individual task and its subtasks without the other tasks in the queue. It's accessible from regular queues, Smart Queues and search results, so you can focus on a specific task no matter where you are coming from. Change task properties, re-order subtasks and even show archived subtasks inline with this new view. You can also easily navigate up a level in your task hierarchy with the Up button, or jump to the containing queue by clicking the queue name.

The new Task Overview also means that every task has its own individual web address - so you can now easily link to a specific task if you want to reference it from another task.

Likewise, Google Calendar events on the web now also have a clickable link so you can quickly get to the associated task in GQueues.
Thanks to everyone who suggested these improvements on the forum, and we hope the new Task Overview makes organizing your work even easier!
